Once a baseline exists you can browse its pinned items, describe it with attributes, freeze it, send it to review and export it.
The list of baselines
In the left sidebar, click Baselines. The page lists every baseline with its ID, Title, Version, State, Created and Last edit. The state is Editable, Frozen or Archived. Use the search box to find a baseline by title, and the filter button to include archived baselines.
Expanding the Baselines section in the sidebar shows the same baselines as a tree; click one to open it, or right-click it for the actions menu.
Each row has a ... menu with the actions described below: Freeze / Unfreeze, Start review, Export, Edit (or View if you cannot change baselines) and Archive / Restore.
Opening a baseline
Click a baseline's ID or title. A green Baselines bar at the top tells you that you are looking at a baseline and not at live items. The header shows the title, the baseline's version number and a Frozen or Archived tag where relevant.
Switch between the document view and the table view with the view toggle. The settings dropdown next to it holds the view and export options.
Every item shows the version it is pinned at. Click the version header to browse the item's history; the ... button next to an older version offers Compare with current baseline version and Change baseline item to v_n_, which re-pins the baseline to that version.
Item actions and bulk actions
Hover an item and click ... for Edit item (opens the live item in a new tab; View item if you only have read access), Open details and Remove from baseline. Tick the checkboxes of several items and use the Actions button in the bar at the top to remove them in one go. Removing items is only possible while the baseline is editable.
The baseline sidebar
Click Baseline settings in the header to open the sidebar. The Baseline details tab shows the ID, who created and last edited the baseline, and the Title. The ... button in the sidebar header repeats the baseline actions.
History and comparison
The clock icon in the baseline sidebar opens the History tab: one step per baseline version, with the date, who changed it and how many items changed. Every change to a baseline makes a version, so this is the record of how the milestone grew.
From the row menu of a baseline, or from the history, choose Compare to put two versions side by side and read the differences as a list or as a tree. See Comparing baselines.
Baseline attributes
Under Details in the sidebar, + adds your own attributes to the baseline itself, such as a description or a status dropdown, in the same way an item carries attributes. The settings dropdown in the baseline header can show or hide attribute names in the document view.
Marking a baseline as a variant
Set as Variant in a baseline's settings, or Set as variant in its details sidebar, tags the baseline so the team knows it is meant to be used as a configuration. The list gains a Variants column and a filter for it. See Variants.
Freezing and unfreezing
Click Freeze in the top-right corner to lock the baseline. A frozen baseline rejects every change: no adding, removing or re-pinning of items, no edits to its title or attributes. The Frozen tag appears in the list and the header.
To make changes again, click Unfreeze. Both actions are also in the ... menu, where they ask for confirmation.
Sending a baseline to review
Click Send to review (or Start review in the ... menu) to create a review that contains exactly the pinned item versions of the baseline. The review wizard opens with the baseline preselected.
Exporting
Open the settings dropdown in the header, or the ... menu in the list, and choose Export to .docx for a document or Export to .xlsx for a spreadsheet. The export runs in the background and the file downloads when it is ready.
Archiving
When a baseline is no longer needed, choose Archive from its ... menu. Archived baselines disappear from the list until you switch on the archived filter, and they can no longer be exported or changed. Choose Restore to bring one back.
