Suggested traces show you items that are similar in content to the item you are looking at but not yet linked to it. Use them to find missing traces and duplicates without searching by hand. Suggestions come from AI similarity search over your organization's items and never create anything on their own.
Turning suggestions on
Open an item's details in the right sidebar and scroll to the traces. Below the existing traces there is a Suggested traces section with a switch. Turn it on to see suggestions. The switch is remembered for you in this organization, so you only need to set it once.
Reading a suggestion
Up to five suggestions are listed, each with the item's ID, type icon, and title. Hover the ID to preview the item. Items that are already traced to the current item are not suggested, and the list refreshes whenever you add or remove a trace.
Acting on a suggestion
Hover a row to show its actions:
Create trace (check icon) - opens the trace picker. Choose the trace type and direction between the two items and the trace is created. The row disappears from the list.
... menu:
Add as duplicate - creates a trace of the Duplicate type between the two items.
Discard suggestion - hides this item from the suggestions.
Creating a trace needs permission to create items; discarding and marking duplicates needs permission to edit the current item.
Bringing back discarded suggestions
When you have discarded at least one suggestion, a Load discarded suggestions button appears under the list. Click it to clear your discards and see the full list again.
Suggestions in the chat
The Space Agent can also propose traces while you chat, for example when you ask "Which tests verify @REQ-42?". Those proposals appear as AI suggestion cards with Accept and reject buttons. See Working with AI. For traces in general, see Traceability.
