It's easy to know where you are in a project by looking at the breadcrumbs in the top-left corner of the document view. Clicking on the breadcrumbs links will take you to that parent item.
Sometimes an item can have multiple parents, in that case, the breadcrumbs will display a double vertical arrow indicating you can click and select the desired parent to navigate to.
In the eventuality that there isn't enough space to display the full breadcrumbs path, part of the parent links will be replaced by a three-dot "..." icon. You can click on it to see the full path.
