AI chat history

Written by Janis Vavere

Every conversation with the Space Agent is saved, so you can come back to it, continue it, or reuse a proposal it made. Chats are private to you and kept per organization.

Opening the history

Open the chat from the AI button in the bottom-right corner, then click the clock icon in the chat header (tooltip Open chat history). Click it again, or click Back, to return to the active chat.

The chat history list

Chats are grouped by when they were last used: Previous 7 days, Previous 30 days, then one group per month. Bookmarked chats sit at the top under Bookmarks. The chat you currently have open shows a check mark. A chat that is still generating a reply in the background shows a spinner (tooltip Generating in the background).

Starting a new chat

Click New chat at the top of the history. A chat is called New chat until you send your first message, after which the AI gives it a short title based on the conversation.

Sending a message from the chat panel on the My feed dashboard always starts a new chat.

Switching chats

Click any chat in the list to open it. The agent keeps the full conversation as context, so you can pick up where you left off. Trace.Space remembers which chat you had open the next time you open the sidebar.

Rename, bookmark, delete

Hover a chat to show its actions:

  • Rename (pencil icon) - type a new title and press Enter, or use the check icon. The close icon cancels.

  • Bookmark / Remove Bookmark - pin the chat under Bookmarks at the top of the list.

  • Delete (bin icon) - remove the chat. If you delete the chat you have open, the sidebar switches to a new empty chat.

Actions on a chat in the history

Stopping a running chat

A chat that is still generating can be stopped and resumed from the chat itself or from the Agentic processes panel on the My feed dashboard. See Working with AI and Background processes.

Review chats

When the AI reviewer works through a review, its reasoning is stored as a chat titled AI Review Reasoning. These chats appear in your history so you can read them, but you cannot send messages to them.
